A few years ago, if one said the word \u201cdrone\u201d most of us would picture a male bee buzzing about, ordering the worker bees around. Nowadays, the word conjures images of flying robots buzzing about spying on people.<\/p>\n
Drones are unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) that can be remotely controlled or can fly independently using software-controlled flight plans and GPS. The main purpose of drones is to access locations that are inaccessible, difficult or dangerous for humans to enter. They therefore assist humans, based in one location, with difficult tasks in a less accessible location.<\/p>\n
With that concept in mind, a recent enhancement to SYSPRO Espresso, our mobile offering, now allows administrators to build and customize Espresso applications without ever touching the device. While the device is out there (being mobile, like a drone), the administrator can sit in the comfort of his office chair building applications for his users and then deploying it to their devices.<\/p>\n
This really is helpful in that users who are not office bound can receive custom and new applications without having to return to the office. It also means that administrators who are used to working in core SYSPRO do not have to navigate the Espresso application itself, on different devices \u2013 not that it\u2019s difficult, but any new UI requires getting used to.<\/p>\n
Added to this, scripting capability is also supported in the Espresso Application Builder. This means that even more customization can be done on applications. You literally can take the product anywhere!<\/p>\n
SYSPRO Espresso is promoted as allowing you to do business from anywhere, at any time, and SYSPRO will continue to make business activities more accessible and more flexible.
